I haven’t posted for a while and I apologize for that.  Preschool is going in full force.  Here’s my checklist that the kids have learned so far:

The pledge of allegiance, their first sight words (I,a,see, can), their shapes (circle, square, triangle, star, oval, hexagon, octagon rectangle), days of the week, the letters A,B,C,D,E and their sounds along with songs (way up high in the apple tree, bluebird, bluebird, patty cake, hey diddle diddle, one elephant went out to play).  Our colors, and counting to 20+ And I have to add in that they are learning each other’s names and sharing.

Things to work on:  I would like each child to be able to write his/her name by the end of October. We have been practicing this every other day. If you would like a practice sheet with your child’s name on it please let me know.  Also, now that they have their first reading book please have them go over each book that I start giving them and read every night before going to bed.  Also, please go over the alphabet train each night. Have them say the letter and sound.  This will encourage them and give them confidence as they begin reading.

Thank you for bringing your child and picking up your child on time.  Thankyou for the wonderful treats you have brought for each child. Thankyou for keeping them home when they are sick.  We live in peculiar circumstances with the covid and flu season upon us. If you ever have any questions please always ask.  I love helping anyway I can.

Just  a reminder.  I am leaving for Boston so there will be no preschool until October 27th and October 28.

Depending on which day your child comes we will be having a Halloween party on those dates .  Please bring a wrapped treat (13) to have your child give to the other children.  This party will be a dress up party and we will be making homemade root beer and playing Halloween games.  Class will be regular time and day.  If for any reason you may have any questions please let me know.

There will be no open house on sept 3. My daughter who lives with us and is in the final semester of her nursing classes has covid.  She had covid when it first came out back in January and had both shots too after.  The dr said we will be in the clear after sept 3.  As a  precaution I felt it better to just start preschool the set dates (sept 9&10).  If you have any questions or concerns we will address them after preschool on those days.  Thanku ❤️

Preschool is over for the year and I’m already getting ready for next years kids coming. Letters/packets are ready, birthdays on the calendars and food assignments.  Waiting for the school districts calendars to come out so I can update next years calendars.  I will be teaching 2 smaller classes ages 4-5.  I decided to take a break for a while in regards to teaching 3-4 year olds. I enjoy teaching and preparing the kids who are close to getting into kindergarten.  Their reading skills and phonics are way above average as we learn those things during the school year.  So excited to see the kids come already for next fall.  It will be a better year without covid, which changed everyone but mostly children and their capacity of learning and socializing with each other.

Preschool will start up this fall September 8 (8:45-10:45)and September 9,(9:45-11:45) 2021-2022 and I’m looking forward to a wonderful year with these sweet kiddos❤️👍🏼Expect your form letters in the mail soon

Please remember to bring a cake (family size cake) from each child Wednesday and Thursday classes for our last day of preschool❤️

Friday, April 23, 2021

The last day of school will be the 19th for my Monday-Wednesday classes and May 20th for my Tuesday-Thursday class.  We will not have a graduation program because there are several children whose families are getting over covid still.  We will the last day of school need your help.  There will be a cake walk game and for that I need each mom to bring a regular size store bought or homemade cake to preschool.  Please explain to your child that he/she will be bringing home a different cake and not the one he/she brought.  If you make a homemade cake please put it on a dish or something that you don’t want back.  Thank you for a great year.  It’s been wonderful ❤️Have a happy summer and remember to go over your child’s alphabet, phonics, and sight words. Repetition is a great teacher and will help them remember what they learned during preschool.  And always read, read, read.

Monday, March 29, 2021

It is almost April and I can’t believe how fast the month of March has gone by.  We had wonderful “t” parties last week. The kids looked like they were having fun learning manners, sitting and eating properly at our luncheon table.  They were so kind and polite passing each other the dainty dishes.  It helped make them more aware of their surroundings.  The kids learned the waltz, the polka and free styling.  I took some great pics and am putting together videos of each that you will be able to watch on your iPhones.

This week we will be learning about the letter “u” and playing Easter games.  The Easter bunny will be leaving a surprise for each child that comes on Wednesday and Thursday classes.

For anyone interested in signing your child up for preschool in the fall I have 2 openings left in the Monday/Wednesday class from 8:45-10:45.  ❤️

4-5 yr olds:  March is a great month to go over the things we have learned throughout this year.  We have started doing drills the first half hour of class already.  The goal here is to make sure each child can identify his/her letters, sounds. Can count to at least 20, knows at least six shapes, can write name, can spell his/her name out loud, knows opposites, knows the pledge of allegiance, can identify colors, can tell you how many syllables are in a word, or name, knows the days of the week, and months of the year.  I know each child learns and understands differently then others but we can learn in different ways to help each child.  We will start understanding what rhyming words are this month.  Those of you who have their child go over the alphabet trains each day I can definitely see the difference.  Also those that have their child read the books  I send out to each child are reading at a great level, while those children who have not been following through are noticeably getting farther and farther behind.  If you are wondering where your child fits in these categories just ask them.  I haven’t been told when the kindergarten screening will begin and with covid I’m not sure what they are going to do.  Check with the grade school your child will be attending in the fall to find out.❤️

3-4 yr olds:  it would be a pretty good idea to read the above too to see where your child fits in and is doing.  Of course they will not be able to do all of the above but get ready for next year because that is what we will learn together in their 4-5 year old class.  Comfortable in works!

Our st Patrick’s day party will be on Tuesday March 16 and Wednesday March 17 depending on which day your child comes.  Please wear green if you can.

March 24 and 25, again depending on which day your child comes we are going to have a “t” party and learn about manners.  Please dress up in any dress up outfit your child would like to wear.  Girls May pick a Cinderella dress etc.and boys may pic a knight in shining armor.  We are going to learn several dances too.  Whatever your child feels comfortable  wearing is fine. thank you for your support and help in following through in helping your child..

Oh, if by chance I have forgotten your child’s birthday thru the year would you let me know.  I have several birthdays still coming up.  Please let me know.  I don’t want anyone missed.  Thank you and have a great March❤️
