🎃such a wonderful week of preschool!  The children are settling in with the routine and structure. They repeat the pledge of allegiance each day they come. They take turns praying and are so sweet and quiet. They sing their letters they have learned since the first day of school (phonic song),  and each week we have learned a new letter the children have also learned a song that goes with it.

This weeks letter "E" was fun as we read books like, "the ear book", " the elephants birthday party" and the song, "one elephant went out to play - out on a spiders web one day.  Each child took home an elephant for their fingers to fit through along with a spider to remind them of the song.

Each class was introduced to "opposites". The children helped with a few of the opposite words like back/front, tall/short, long hair/short hair, etc.  we even took a balloon outside demonstrating light/heavy ( 5 lb weights).  Please work on spelling your names. I still have children who really struggle with that.

The 4-5 year olds are working hard on their sight words. Please be sure to help them at home and remember to keep their reading books you will be getting in your envelopes this month.  It will help them review all summer long so they will be prepared for kindergarten .

For our Halloween party I have Halloween buckets for each child to take home.  If you would bring 13 wrapped treats or surprises on our scheduled Halloween party day we will fill those buckets pretty well.  We will be playing games so please dress your child up in his/her costumes that will be safe to run around in and use the restroom at preschool.

Look forward to another great week. See you all then🎃

This past week was so much fun.  On Monday and Tuesday the children painted their dinosaurs, completed their "d" worksheets and Wednesday and Thursday we made our "D" clouds for each child to take home and hang up on a wall.  Also, some of the kids chose to make Halloween cats with stickers.  They were very proud of their fine work.

The 4-5 year olds practiced counting to 100.  They love trying to do this a lot!  We will have a new sight word and book to hand out next week.  Be sure you are helping your child memorize at home their sight words.  I am so proud of the children who have them memorized. It will be easier for them to move ahead each time They get a new word.  We have learned a few shapes (circle, square, triangle, oval, rectangle). I will be adding a new shape this coming week. Make sure your child is practicing writing their name.  If you need a worksheet with their name printed in dots on it I will be happy to copy one for you.

The 3-4 year olds are still learning to share and be kind to each other.  They are learning how to count to 10 and know a few of the shapes(circle, square, triangle) I will add more once they learn these shapes really good. i am so proud of each one of them. Their little personalities are really showing who they are.  They are so fun to be around!

Both classes played games and sang "hey diddle, diddle". I read some "d" books and the children really enjoyed them.
