Openings are available for next fall (2019-20) if you are interested.

December has started off with 5 giant birthday cakes and lots of learning. Each class has painted their wooden snowmen and will be bringing them home next week.  This week we traced each child's hand and made the cutest reindeer you've ever seen.  I gave each class directions and then let them do what they wanted. They each had a lot of fun making them.  We will be making gingerbread cookies, decorate a Christmas tree, paint stars and make snowflakes.  On December 21, Santa will be making a visit upstairs with a surprise and some sugar cookies to eat and enjoy from 11:00 am until 12:00 noon.  (Please come through the gate to my front door -instead of the preschool room) This will be the last day of school until the new year Jan 7, and 8, 2019.

The 4-5 yr. old classes are coming along well with their sight words. Today they read the book I gave them extremely well.  They are understanding their phonics and counting to 100.  Shapes are too easy for them and as they come back in January I will challenge their memorizing skills and teach them new shapes they've never heard🤓.

The 3-4 yr. old class are also doing very well. They love learning, playing games with each other and are learning a lot of social skills, which at this age is what they are developing.  We are working on letters, sharing and writing their names.  Their phonic songs they enjoy singing and they love ve their shapes.

I look forward everyday in seeing these children with smiles on their faces and how they love to learn.  Thank you for this wonderful privilege and have a very Merry Christmas 🎄

The month of November 🦃 has gone by sooo fast!  The turkeys have been designed beautifully.
NO SCHOOL All next week and have a HAPPY THANKSGIVING and safe travels🦃!!!!

Our pumpkin pies turned out and I hope you were able to have a tiny piece of pie👀 .
4-5 yr old classes:  most know how to write their names or at least have a good idea how it begins. Know their letters to "g" and sound and an alphabet song for each of the letters they have learned. Can say the pledge of allegiance, know the days of the week, count to twenty, share, are kind to each other, being polite and waiting their turn to speak are just a few things we have learned in class.  They love circle games, frog games, acting out the songs we learn, and of course, the parachute and games we play with it. They are learning what structure is and are becoming great listeners with patience.  I am so proud of each student and its so wonderful to have the opportunity to be teaching each one of them.  Thanku so much❤️.

3-4 yr old classes:  are really starting to listen and pay attention.  The pledge of allegiance is coming along so much better, as is the days of the week and counting to ten.  Sharing and taking turns with the structure in the class has really improved. I'm soo proud of these little ones.  They love story time and playing spin the bottle with new words we learn from the letters we have that particular week.  Bingo and floor games they enjoy too.  They have their phonics down to the letter "g".  We are still working on their name writing and I know it's just a matter of time before they get it.❤️

*****Thank you for bringing such wonderful snacks on your assigned snack day and hey, if you forget don't worry just bring your child's snack the next time you come.

*****I've been trying to find a Santa, but have had no results.  My Santa that I had for twenty years passed away two years ago and he was the best because he loved children! If anyone knows of a great Santa please let me know. I would really love to surprise your little ones

It's been such a spooky month in preschool this month of october🎃 We've had a lot of fun.  Can'twait until tomorrow playing Halloween games, making witches brew and modeling our
costumes and pinning the nose on the pumpkin are just a few things planned for our Halloween party.

* Please remember if your child is in the Tuesday-Thursday class bring 12 wrapped treats
If your child is in the 4-5 yr old class on Wednesday please bring 13 wrapped treats and finally if your child is in the 3-4 year old class please bring 10 wrapped treats for each child in the class.

Classes have been going well.  Please help your child with his/her sight word memorization, and I hope you are making sure they repeat to you before going to bed they're phonics.

I still have a few children that are struggling in writing they're name.  Please make sure that your child writes his/her name first letter capital and the rest lower case.  We have been learning the days of the week and also opposites and a little regarding rhythming words.  We will be starting the letter "f" next week, after we have our class Halloween party tomorrow and Wednesday.

Have a happy Halloween everyone🎃

*3 openings in my 3-4 yr old class taught on Mondays and Wednesday's from 11:00 until 1:00.

(Class 4-5 yr olds). What a great week. We learned how to write the letter "b", learned a new sight word and now have four sight words memorized. We learned how to cut out with scissors, glueing, and made our b train along with banana bread.  I found fresh honey to give to each child and they learned that honeybees make sweet honey.  We learned the songs, I'm going on a bear hunt, and bluebird, bluebird.  We played bingo, spin the bottle finding "b" words. We read "bark, George" you will have to ask your child what the story was about.

(Class 3-4 yr olds). A great week. The children are counting to 10 very easily. We are practicing writing their names.  It is still difficult because they're hands (fingers) are still forming but they try really hard and that counts in my book.  They love being read to and love singing. We did the same songs and read the same books as did the 4-5 yr old class.

I am so touched at how kind and thoughtful they have been toward each other.  Everyone is starting to make friends with each other and I feel like they are doing very well.

I am calling the tautphaus park zoo to see sometime in October if the zoo mobile can bring some animals for them to see.  Preschool for Monday-Wednesday classes will be the same and won't change, however, because the zoo mobile will only come once  my Tuesday-Thursday class will have to come on a different day.  I will let you know when I find out if they can schedule us in.

*just a note about Halloween coming up in October.  Dress your child up in his/her costumes, please make sure they go to the bathroom before coming to preschool.  please bring wrapped treats for each child in your child's class:
Class1 Monday-Wednesday 8:45-10:45. 13 children
Class2 Monday-Wednesday 11:00-1:00. 9 children
Class3 Tuesday-Thursday 9:45-11:45. 12 children

Calenders will be sent out by Monday.  If you didn't get one please let me know.  Because of spud harvest there will be no school the first week of October. Please check your calendars for the dates.

Thursday, September 6, 2018

If there is anyone interested I have 2 openings in my 3-4 yr old class available.

The children came this week and I can't express to you how excited I am.  What great kids with personalities to match.  They are already making friendships and next week will start learning their alphabet, colors, the shape "circle", their phonics, the pledge of allegiance, counting to 10.  My 4-5 year olds will be introduced to sight words and begin reading the books I made up.  It's going to be a full learning week, along with games, songs and books.  It was the "best week ever" of getting to know each child and now here we go parents❤️

Saturday, May 19, 2018

For over 20 years I have been teaching preschool.  Last Friday, May 18th was graduation for my 4-5 year old classes. The children did a great job memorizing the program, singing and making wonderful memories.  It is always a hard time for me when each of them walk away.. knowing this is their last day of school.  I may never see them again.  I love these kids so much.  But today I received in the mail a graduation announcement from one of my students that Brought tears to my eyes, that reminded me that they will always know I love them, even if I never see them again....
"After years of education, I can still always remember it started with you. Thanks for starting me off right and teaching me to love learning.  I love you Mrs. Doggett". From Calvin Derek fay (preschool student 2005).
I'm ok with them hugging me and saying goodbye now... And maybe never seeing me again because each child knows I love them and isn't that the greatest gift we can ever give to a child.
Thank you Calvin and thank you to the many students that send me graduation announcements. I look forward to seeing and hearing how you are all doing.

Mrs. Doggie

*just a note:  I have 5 openings left for next fall for the 3-4 year old class.  My 4-5 yr old classes are completely full.  If you are interested please call me @2084032715. Thanks

3-4 class- We are having such a great time. We are reviewing our letters, shapes, trying to count higher then 20, playing games that help us share and communicate.  Our letter this week is "v". They understood words like vase, van, volcano and the violin looked like a guitar.  That's why they are here...to learn the difference.  They are getting along well with each other and I am so excited to teach them next year.  In general the children love learning. May I remind you if your child is still struggling writing his/her name, please help them.  I have been teaching them a lot, but some of the kids need extra reinforcement.

4-5 classes-  we are also learning about the letter"v" this week.  The children are reading pretty well and they are writing their sight words too.  They love counting to 100, some are not only writing their first name, but their last name also.  This week they will be learning about their body parts (shoulders, heart, lungs, tongue, and about 15 more) on wed and Thursday I will let them hear their heartbeat with my stethoscope.  There are a couple of kids who can understand their phonics better then their letters and vice versa.  They will continue putting both together and the more they practice, the more they will make that connection.

The 4-5 graduations will be on May 18. I will put the rest of the info. In your Manila envelopes with your May calenders.  Please let me know if your child will not be here on May 18th.

Saturday, March 24, 2018

I have a few class openings left for next fall but only on Monday-Wednesday.

Letter "u" will be introduced this coming week along with our Easter party on Wednesday and Thursday.  They will each have an Easter bucket, surprises, and color eggs.  It's going to be eggstra fun!  If you would like to bring any treats or surprises for 12 children you sure may. They really enjoy that.

Because of spring break in the school district, there will be no preschool on Monday April 1rst.
Have a wonderful Easter everyone🐰

Thursday, March 15, 2018

Anyone interested in signing up for fall 2018-19 I only have Monday-Wednesday classes available.

What a great week we had...oh how I love your children!  The "t" party, of course with apple juice was so much fun. We talked about manners, ate cheese, tomatoes, olives, tiny sandwiches, pickles, lucky charms, grapes, shamrock homemade cookies, with a bunch of other sugar cookies frosted and sprinkled. After we visited and learned where to put the napkin and how to drink with the pinky finger extended we were fully ready to learn some dance moves.  The kids learned how to hokey pokey, line dance and of course walk.  With the students dressed up in princess dresses, beautiful Sunday dresses, suits, and bow ties they danced and danced!

We heard a bang upstairs and we found leprechaun foot prints going up the stairs.  Not only did the leprechauns not let us see them...they left us a black small pot of gold coins. When we went back to the preschool room they forgot their hats!  Luckily the leprechauns left enough hats for each child.

Thank you so much! I had the best birthday this week because I got to be near heaven with your children🎈

No school on Monday February 19th.. Presidents' Day.

Hey everyone.  We had a great week in preschool having the letter "Q" and our valentines party! Thank you so much moms for the cute and wonderful ideas you had.  The kids had a blast with all the candy and surprises they received.

4-5 year old classes:  As we have been reviewing the alphabet, phonics and upper/lower case letters, I have learned a lot from your children.  So I will mention this again.....if you really really want to help your child please, please every night before you put your child to bed, please have him/her sing the alphabet train song. They know it!  It will help them remember their letters and sounds. I am sad to hear from some children this isn't happening and that they don't even know where their alphabet train they made is.

Coming up soon will be our Tea Party in March 14th and 15th.  It's a day where the girls come dressed up in their princess dresses and the boys come dressed up in their Sunday best.  The kids will learn about manners, etiquette, and have a small luncheon and dance.  I promise I will take a lot of pictures.  On the same day we will be celebrating St. Patrick's day.

Please check your calendars to see when you are to bring treats for your child's class.  Thank you so much for having the best kids ever👍

Friday, February 2, 2018

Just a heads up...my Tuesday-Thursday class is full for fall 2018-19.  I still have openings on Monday-Wednesday classes.  If your interested please send in your fall application.  Thank you.

Tuesday, January 23, 2018

What another great week of learning.  The children are blooming like flowers and it's not even spring!

Heads up...next Monday (jan29)and Tuesday (jan30) we will be learning the letter "P".  Please have your child dressed in his/her pjs.  We will have a pancake breakfast and then a little later we will have a puppet show with popcorn while learning everything we can about p.

Kindergarten registration will be coming up in the next several months.  Right now I am prepping them and helping them to be ready for questions they will be asked to answer.  Shapes, numbers, colors and letters.  I hope the letter train your child has been bringing home every week has easy access so your child can go over and over learning sounds and upper and lower case letters.  We are working hard in preschool now with that and the days of the week.

My 4-5 yr old classes love counting to 100 with a few still trying to keep up.  It's ok if they can count to 20.  That's all that is required. They love learning and pushing themselves. It's exciting to see them do it.

Sight words are completely going along great. They're reading level is great.  We are now writing our sight words and again the children are so excited to be writing.

The 3-4 yr old class is doing awesome too. They are going to see tomorrow a live octopus...as well as my 4-5 yr old classes...thought they would enjoy that.  They are counting to 20, which is remarkable. They are learning more shapes, colors, opposites, words that rhyme.

Saturday, January 6, 2018

No preschool on Monday January 15. (Human rights day) and the Madison school will be out of school too.

Welcome back students to preschool.  This past week we reviewed everything we have learned thus far.  The 4-5 yr old classes knew all their sight words, counted easily to 50, understood what the sound of each letter is and also recognized each letter..upper and lower case.  We reviewed shapes, colors opposites.

We are going to learn our days of the week, months of the year, and start doing alittle math. My 3-4 yr old class are introduced to these things and we will see what they can handle too.  They are sponges and love learning..that makes all the difference. Looking forward to another great week!
