This week in class the children learned the letter "A-a".  Each parent took home his/her child's picture-airplane.  We made our alligator cloud for you to hang up behind the airplane on your child's wall, or wherever is convenient.  Each Wednesday/Thursday you will get another cloud with a letter that we learned that particular week.  Make sure every night you tuck your child into bed you have him/her tell you the letter and then the sound it makes.

We are learning the pledge of allegiance,  writing our names, writing the letter.  "A", counting to 10 (most of the 4-5 yr olds count to twenty), the shapes; circle, square, and triangle.  We played games such as bingo,  concentration (matching pics that start with "a") London bridge,  putting our right and left foot in game, played with the parachute, learned our "A" song (apple tree) and the phonic sound.

This week I introduced our first four sight words to the 4-5 yr old class. I will be giving you the sight words on cards (4-5) yr olds in your payment envelopes in October.  You can put those cards on your fridge and help your child memorize them as I send them out to you each month.

Make sure you help your child remember that show-n-tell is every Wednesday or Thursday, depending on what day your child comes.  Thank you so much for the wonderful treats you have brought thus far- the children have loved it!  Please check on the bottom of your calender to see when your child is scheduled to bring treats and if you miss your day just bring treats the next time.

There were six birthdays this month and still several more left.  If I ever miss a birthday please let me know. I have gone over my lists with a fine tooth comb but sometimes it can happen.  I love to send each child a card and have a giant cupcake birthday cake for them.

Can I just tell you that I am so blessed. I love each one of your beautiful children. Thank you so much for the privilege you give me each day to teach and be around such wonderful little people.
