4-5 yr olds:  March is a great month to go over the things we have learned throughout this year.  We have started doing drills the first half hour of class already.  The goal here is to make sure each child can identify his/her letters, sounds. Can count to at least 20, knows at least six shapes, can write name, can spell his/her name out loud, knows opposites, knows the pledge of allegiance, can identify colors, can tell you how many syllables are in a word, or name, knows the days of the week, and months of the year.  I know each child learns and understands differently then others but we can learn in different ways to help each child.  We will start understanding what rhyming words are this month.  Those of you who have their child go over the alphabet trains each day I can definitely see the difference.  Also those that have their child read the books  I send out to each child are reading at a great level, while those children who have not been following through are noticeably getting farther and farther behind.  If you are wondering where your child fits in these categories just ask them.  I haven’t been told when the kindergarten screening will begin and with covid I’m not sure what they are going to do.  Check with the grade school your child will be attending in the fall to find out.❤️

3-4 yr olds:  it would be a pretty good idea to read the above too to see where your child fits in and is doing.  Of course they will not be able to do all of the above but get ready for next year because that is what we will learn together in their 4-5 year old class.  Comfortable in works!

Our st Patrick’s day party will be on Tuesday March 16 and Wednesday March 17 depending on which day your child comes.  Please wear green if you can.

March 24 and 25, again depending on which day your child comes we are going to have a “t” party and learn about manners.  Please dress up in any dress up outfit your child would like to wear.  Girls May pick a Cinderella dress etc.and boys may pic a knight in shining armor.  We are going to learn several dances too.  Whatever your child feels comfortable  wearing is fine. thank you for your support and help in following through in helping your child..

Oh, if by chance I have forgotten your child’s birthday thru the year would you let me know.  I have several birthdays still coming up.  Please let me know.  I don’t want anyone missed.  Thank you and have a great March❤️

Sign ups for my fall classes 2021 are going on now.  If you are interested please go to this blog and copy the registration form and get it back to me as soon as you can.  I’m usually full by the end of February.

For the month of December we will be reviewing counting, shapes, phonics, days of the week, pledge of allegiance and hopefully be able to have each child that is in the 4/5 year old classes write their names.  We already painted and put together wooden snowmen that they have brought home.  We had a snowball fight in class this past week and we’re playing a lot of Christmas games so we can win prizes each day.

Follow your calendars. We will start back up on January 4th.  We will start working harder on our sight words (reading) and the months of the year.

Because of covid there will no Christmas program and not even Santa this year.  I am so sorry for these little ones not being given these fun activities so that’s why I’m making the month of December so much fun..they totally deserve it! ☃️☃️☃️☃️☃️☃️☃️☃️☃️☃️☃️☃️

May you have a Merry Christmas and a happy New Year.  see you back January 4th/5th depending on which day your child’s class is scheduled.

 Dear parents

There will be no preschool because of Thanksgiving 🍗 this coming week.  I want you to know I’m getting everything prepped for the next few weeks tho.  We will be painting and when the kids paint I have old t-shirts to put on them.  If you want to you can dress them in old clothes just in case.  Please wear short sleeve shirts/blouses.  That makes it easier for them and me❤️.

I am sorry to say that because of COVID I am having trouble finding a Santa to come.  I do have a back-up plan and really hope I won’t have to use it.  If you know any Santa’s please let me know.  Mine moved to Texas for two years...Thanku

Have a wonderful Thanksgiving 🍗

Finally after my family’s COVID we can really get going in preschool.  I’m concerned that only a few children can write their names and/or pledge allegiance to the flag.  We should be way past that by now.  So I encourage you to work at home with your child regarding writing his/her name.  We will continue to work on memorizing the pledge of allegiance.

The month of November we will follow the calendar, however, we will also be learning the days of the week.  The children are learning their phonics, but I want to be sure they can identify the letters both capital and lower case.

My husband is home now. He lost 40 lbs and wants badly to get back to work.  He’s bored he says.  That tells me he is better.  We are blessed he made it and it was pretty frightening to see how fast you can go when your lungs are filling up with water so quickly. It’s why he couldn’t breathe.  It has been a very interesting 2020 for everyone.  We all have tests to go through.  I’m grateful for that knowledge.  Thank you again for your support.  I love your children❤️
